Annual Kaizen Data Collection and ASI Revalidation

While CSS and Talent Plus®* invested heavily in the creation of the Advertising Sales Interview, both organizations are committed to Kaizen (the Japanese term for continuous improvement), to continuous research in order to monitor the performance of the Advertising Sales Interview and to ensure that it continues to meet our rigorous standards for predicting future performance. We greatly appreciate the ongoing cooperation of CSS clients, who annually complete a Kaizen performance rating-scale form on each salesperson on staff.  We are proud of the very high rate of participation in this annual data collection process.  These field performance data points are then correlated with ASI interview results for each salesperson to test that the ASI is continuing to separate the best from the rest.

 

The CSS/Talent Plus Advertising Sales Interview is a highly effective predictor of future performance by an advertising salesperson.  When sales managers are asked a year and two years later if they would re-hire that salesperson, they respond that they would re-hire over 80% of those who are Recommended on the ASI, but only a bit over 50% of those who are Not Recommended.  With the ASI, sales managers can make an accurate hiring decision about 5 times out of 6.  Without the instrument, they have about a 50-50 chance.
